The Rise of an Automotive Industry Icon
Andy Gill’s remarkable journey in the automotive industry began in February1970 when he became one of Atlanta’s first F&I Managers, taking a positionat an Oldsmobile-Rolls-Royce dealership. His innovative approach to Finance and Insurance quickly set him apart, laying the foundation for a career marked by groundbreaking achievements and industry-wide impact.
Pioneering F&I Strategies
Starting as an F&I manager in the early days when very few dealerships understood the massive potential F&I presented, Andy rapidly advanced, becoming a Sales Manager and then General Sales Manager at a metro Atlanta dealership. His talent for developing profitable F&I departments caught the attention of World Service Life Insurance Company, which recruited him to represent their interests in Florida in 1975.
Corporate Success and Entrepreneurial Ventures
Within five years at World Service Life, Andy’s exceptional performancepropelled him to the role of VP, Director of the Auto Services Division,overseeing a team of over 40 representatives. This experience laid thegroundwork for his next significant move—founding Gill & Associates, Inc. in1980.
Building an F&I Empire
Under Andy’s leadership, Gill & Associates experienced explosive growth,becoming one of the largest F&I producers in the United States within just five years. The company’s success attracted the attention of Voyager Life Insurance Company, a Primerica subsidiary, leading to its acquisition in 1986.
For the next six years, Andy served as President and CEO of the newlyformed Voyager Automotive Group, maintaining its position as a top-volumeF&I producer in the country. This period further solidified his reputation as avisionary leader in the automotive finance sector.
Expansion into Collectibles
Andy’s automotive passion expanded, founding Racing Collectibles Club of
America, Inc., focusing on the then-nascent market of NASCAR collectibles. The Racing Collectibles Club, founded in 1991, quickly grew to over 24,000 members by mid-1993. The company produced a wide range of collectible model cars, from affordable mass-produced items to exclusive, high-value
limited editions for club members. Under Andy’s leadership, the company
rapidly grew, eventually going public in 1994.
Realizing the Dealership Dream
In 1994, Andy achieved a lifelong ambition by acquiring Dallas CDJR, marking his entry into dealership ownership. Over the next 23 years, he expanded his
portfolio to include Hyundai franchises in Metro Atlanta and Athens, GA, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in dealership operations and
management.

Andy’s time as a dealership owner provided him with unparalleled insight into
the complexities of selling a dealership. When he eventually sold his own stores, he experienced the emotional and financial challenges that come with such a significant decision.
